The Matrix of Destiny: what it actually is

Despite the sacred-geometry language, the Matrix of Destiny is a recent system: it was put together in Russia in the 2000s by Natalia Ladini, who wove three older traditions into one — the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot, Pythagorean numerology and the seven chakras. The eight-pointed grid the numbers sit on is an octagram, the same figure found in Islamic art and Gothic rose windows.

The calculation starts from the birth date alone. Day, month and year are reduced within the 22 Arcana and take the four cardinal points of the octagram; their sum, reduced in turn, gives the centre, the point the method calls the Soul. The diagonals carry the two ancestral lines, paternal and maternal, while the karmic tail comes from the triad formed along the left side. From these positions follow the love and money channels, the chakra map and the four life purposes, marked out in twenty-year spans.

It is worth keeping its limit in mind: the matrix depends on the date alone, so everyone born on the same day shares an identical one, and the same day will always return the same numbers. Nothing here is random and nothing is predictive. What the method really offers is a vocabulary — energy in plus, energy in minus, karmic tail, channels — for putting some order into questions that usually stay muddled.
